Cantonment Close, is located at Central Area. It is surrounded by Cantonment road to the east and Keppal Viaduct highway to the north. The special thing about Cantonment close is the infrastructure similarity to Liverpool. If you have been through the urban areas of Liverpool, you might have seen the royal design of architectural buildings, complemented by trees surrounding them. Well, Cantonment close is just like a twin sister of Liverpool. While rebuilding of Singapore was going on 1970s, the British architectures heavily empathised with this particular place, as it was one of their hubs during colonial times. After gaining independence, Singapore administration welcomed British designers to re-design this area into something that will represent the everlasting friendly relationship between Singapore and Britain.

Thus the whole area of Cantonment close was design as per the infrastructure of Liverpool. The shopping complexes, commercial hubs, apartments, roadways etc. were identical to the ones present 1000 miles away from there. After the renovations were completed, people flooded this area to witness the astonishing change happened in this place. With such influx of people coming into this place for hangout and entertainment, it soon became one of the popular places among Royals and high profile people to own a property here. In result, the prices went up and its affordability got limited to rich class people.

Cantonment Close is adjacent to Everton Road and Cantonment Road. It is a small enclosed area with many vacant apartments and large roads, so there is no extra rush on the streets while travelling. You will find three main bus stations in this area i.e. Block 01, Block 02 and Block 05. The buses you will find passing these stations have these numbers – 61, 166, 167, 196, 199, 75 etc. There are also several MRT stations are situated nearby such as Tanjong Pagar MRT station, HarbourFront MRT station and Chinatown MRT station.
