The French Road is an HDB Street located in HDB Estate of the Central area of Singapore. This Cetral Area is a name collectively given to areas such as Marina East, Marina South, Newton, Orchard, Outram, River Valley, Rochor, Singapore River, to name a few. The Central area is more popularly known as the Central Business District (CBD). The Central Area has a combination of both HDB residentials as well as commercial developments. However, the Central area has a population of around 28k HDB residents spread across 12.3k flats under the HDB (Housing and Development Board). Designated as a commercial area due to its proximity to the harbour, it has remained the commercial and administrative centre of Singapore ever since the Colonial era.

The buses that run along these stops include bus 7, 7A, 32, 51, 61, 63, 80, 145, 175, 197, 100, 961, 961C, 980 and SMAJU.

The second most popular form of public transportation prevalent in the area is the Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) services. In fact, there are a couple of MRT stations in the vicinity of French Road. These MRT station to name would be Lavender MRT Station, Farrer Park MRT Station and Nicoll Highway MRT station. Private transportation is also a viable option for those who prefer to as French Road lies at the heart of a network of roads. The expressways linked to French Road are Kallang Rd, Victoria St, Nicoll Highway, Ophir rd and flyover, Victoria St, Rochor Rd, JlnBesar and Sungei Rd.

French Road isis also an apt location for families with children or students because of its proximity to a number of day care centres, schools and other educational institutions. There are a plenty of options in case of primary schools and daycare centres in the vicinity.
