Bedok North Street 1 is one of the many HDB streets located in the Bedok HDB estate. The town of Bedok was converted by HDB (Housing and Development Board) into Singapore's fifth self contained new town in the 1960s, with the first residential flats emerging in the vicinity around 1975. According to demography, Bedok is the largest planning area in the republic with a total population of about 200,000 residents across approximately 62k HDB flats within the town. One of the main reason as to why Bedok has been blooming as an HDB estate is the relatively affordable public housing even though it is quite far from the Central Area. Bringing in the scenic beauty of the coastal area together with the latest of amenities, Bedok has become one of the top choices for housing and property investments in Singapore.
Bedok North Street 1, as mentioned earlier, is an HDB street that comprises of about 16 blocks with 1441 units of HDBs with postal codes spanning from 460201 to 461201. The oldest of HDB blocks in Bedok North Street 1, dates back to as early as 1979 while the newest of them are only a few years old and the newest is 1979. All these blocks have the status of a 99 years leasehold tenure. Though a wide range of unit configuration is available, Bedok North Street 1 has mostly 3 room units, 4 room units, 5 room units and Executive units. Although less popular, one might as well find some studio apartments or executive units in this street.

The other mode of public transportation that is quite prevalent in the area is the Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) service. There are infact a few MRT Stations in the vicinity of Bedok North Street 1 itself. These MRT stations are Bedok MRT Station (EW5) (0.38 kms from blk 201), Bedok Reservoir MRT Station (DT30) (1.2km from blk 213), Bedok North MRT Station (DT29) (1.4 kms from blk 419) and Tanah Merah MRT Station (EW4) (1.5 km from blk 215). Apart from that there is also the option of private transportation for those who prefer. Private transportation is also quite easy given the network of roads and expressway the Bedok North Street 1 is connected to. These expressways are New Upper Changi Road, Bedok South Ave 1 and the PIE toll road.
The Bedok North Street is also great for families with children or with members who are students because the wide range of options the street has to offer in case of day care centres, schools and other educational institutions.
