Has been living for a year now, the place is very exclusive, big internal space 3000sqft+ and lots of space outdoor for the kids to run around. feeling safe and good.

Lovely location but horrible facilities
Hillcrest villa is nestled in a prime location that has easy accessibility to almost everywhere. With the completion of Tan Kah Khee Station, it is a bliss for many of us.
I have been living here for 7 years and there are a few things you must note:
Facilities are poorly maintained despite the monthly fee we pay every month. BBQ pits are hardly working and the furnitures in the 2 club rooms are dirty and old. The chairs are literally black due to dust/ wear and tear.
The Internet at Hillcrest is almost negligible - this is something you must tolerate living here. Not just my unit but for my neighbors as well. The basement and car porch area has an insane number of cockroaches. I'm not joking - there can be up to 8 large cockroaches a day despite spraying baygon.
Oh yes, and because Hillcrest Villa was built so quickly, the quality of the place is terrible. Be prepared to pay for (steep) repair fees too.
There are only a pathetic number of visitor lots in Hillcrest. To be accurate, 5 visitor lots for 100-150 households here. If you, as a resident, have parked 'illegally' on the visitor lots, our condo manager will spare no mercy to wheelclamp your car. I repeat, even though you are a resident.
Plus, if your neighbors smoke, good luck :)
This is what you get for paying for a 4 million property in Hillcrest Villa. My advice? There are definitely better cluster houses around - which is also why we are moving out soon.

Great Place for Families
I've settled into Hillcrest for close to a year, the place is great, especially for families. Many friendly expats with their kids are living here, the amenities are superb. Most cluster housing lacks proper gym and facilities, but hillcrest hits the right spot on them, only downside is that it lacks tennis courts. Additionally alot of space for the kids to roam about in the vicinity and location is central as its only 5 - 10 mins drive away from downtown Orchard and right next to Greenwood area. Downside of location is that it is slightly further if you wish to head down to Marina Boulevard area, about 15 mins drive.
The interior finisihing are good, with Die Dietrich kitchen appliances, high end shower fittings etc... Layout is great, with good amount of brightness into each rooms. My previous apartment was quite dark and having good amount of brightness makes a big difference.
After staying for a year, I have to say that I truly like the place given its conducive nature for families, location, facilities and house layout. A bargain given that the condos right opposite our place e.g. Duchess Crest or Duchess Residence costs 30% - 100% more on a psf basis. Also close to grocery shopping area along the belts at Bukit Timah, very important for weekly grocery shopping. Last but not least, next to Raffles Girls Primary and Nanyang. My girl goes to school at Raffles Girls so its really convenient for us! Property Management there is really friendly, the manager is Bradford, quite an easy going guy.
