    Gem in East Coast

    The best condo in the East Coast area. The new MRT is just at the doorstep. Seaview facing in all blocks. Spacious and good layout with full facilities. High-end and prestige property. Value for money.

    Really good condo

    A condo with nice sea view, good layout, good amenities and quietness (good design and away from Ecp), once mrt finishes, it will add to connectivity

    Horrible people - avoid

    You should only move to this condo if you are a hermit. Full of old children-hating complainers who have nothing more interesting to do than complain about kids.

    Maybe next

    Poor finishing, floor marble tiles yellowish stains. Glue stains at lobby Glassdoor and balcony doors. Ducted aircon spoiled. High monthly maintenance fee. Nice pool, private lift. Good location and accessible but MRT construction blocks the road. Maybe will consider after MRT completes.

    Best Value Property at Meyer Road

    I have been scouting around for new full condo along District 15 along either Amber / Meyer Road for the last few months and chanced upon Aalto and while every buyer would do to check out any review, im surprised that there is none since 2012....er very long time ago 4 years? Anyway, times have changed and in fact Aalto is one of the best in D15 particularly for the following reasons: 1) AFFORDABLE PRICING :Rarity of having MRT at doorstep with FREEHOLD tenure. Its so easy to find 99 years near to MRT. Freehold? Far and few and although many people would say those who can afford need not take MRT but that's not true. Young kids or elderly/ stay/ tenants, having a MRT at doorstep is valuable cos it gives your convenience to any part of island without worrying which bus brings you to MRT & can cut down cost for school bus for those in secondary schools! grandparents visiting grand kids can travel easily via MRT . when its completed. In 3-4 years, this transportation convenience will bring a whole lot of value. 2) SINGLE LOADING LAYOUT- Very rare one cross ventilated dual view of the SEA and landed properties. You do not face into neighbours. Other condos have multiple 6-8 units per level sharing same lobby 3) Private lift that allows exclusivity and privacy 4) Most all of the condos along ECP (Silversea, Cote D Azur) and Meyer Road (Meyerise) are very very noisy. I have visited a lot of properties!! Aalto is set back and buffered by a large community of landed properties (Freehold tenure) in front it and the SEAVIEW will stay perpetually. Where to find?? I have also visited other popular condos like One Amber, The Esta. They are just another conversative condominium in the neighbourhood and nothing special. So now I am a proud owner of Aalto. Look beyond the finishes. Yes its not be fantastic but it can be changed to your specs and taste. WHAT CANNOT BE CHANGED IS PRICELESS - ITS PRIME LOCATION WITH SINGLE LOADING DESIGN & SEA VIEW!!

    Leaving but sad

    I must say that I couldn't disagree with the previous reviewer more, we too are sadly leaving Aalto but we certainly don't hold the bitterness of "M". We have very much enjoyed the last 2 years in a 4 bed apartment on a mid to high floor, the views are spectacular, sunrises perfect and the noise of the ECP really hasn't bothered me or my family at all (it'll be the same at every Meyer Road condo and will be way worse at Silversea which seems to be closer still to the highway). Our unit had a few teething problems when we moved in but this is to be expected at a new development no ?. Our original tile stained also but this was replaced whilst we were away on holiday by the building contractor and since then all was fine. We had to call an Electritian once when the oven fuse broke but apart from that the kitchen appliances were great. We certainly didn't have any of the other problems listed below but then I guess we must have simply looked after our unit better than M. We chose Aalto because of the space, the rooms were much more spacious than many others we saw when we were looking and the facilities were excellent. I don't understand the comments about the playground as my two kids have played there every day, it may be small but it's certainly of good quality. The "pool scene" for me was what I will miss most, a friendly atmosphere where both my family & I made many new friends that will be surely missed. So why are we leaving if all is so good ? Sadly $$$'s... Like so many others our landlord sought a near 30% increase at the end of our 2 years that we sadly just couldn't afford. I have no idea if he will find tenants who will both pay the extra and look after the property as we did but sadly that's not our concern. We will miss Aalto.

    Bad & Good....

    After 2 years here we are also out of here.Like the previous posts our 3 bedder has been plagued with defects and the Aalto just isn't good VFM. The real clincher for us is the upcoming Amber Towers (Amber 4)construction diagonally opposite which will bring years of noise for Aalto residents - good luck to those who've just signed inflated 2 yr rental contracts!! The build quality of the units is appalling: - non-existent noise insulation for windows and the aluminium frames are rusting away - cheap French/Belgium kitchen appliances which are being passed off as German, that break down continuously -appalling plumbing (we had 4 new toilets in 2 yrs and they still don't work properly) -marble in living area is defective and is yellowing all over in patches - kitchens are small and badly designed -balcony is unusable - too narrow and SW orientation means it's hot there and in the living area and master bedroom most of the day. Also hot in the bedrooms in the morning... - Air-con units fail and the electricity bills are double other places - 4 & 5 bed units face unbearable traffic noise from TK flyover and ECP especially late at night -grouting in the bathrooms is like toothpaste and chips away -the recreation area is well landscaped but way to small, with kids zooming around all day and evening. There are now numerous units for sale and rent - I can see a few bank repo's here and in D15 soon !

    CHILDRENS PLAYGROUND

    BAD THINGS 1) Fittings and fixtures poor quality. Yellow marble,corroding Aluminum window frames, glass on balcony has opaque areas where silicon has degraded. Kitchen appliances are French - De-Decrepit -the worst appliance i have ever had the misfortune to use. Cooker broke 3 times, dishwasher twice. 2) Garbage chute-slashed wrist 3 times now. 3) Electricity bill significantly high compared with last condo (considering we only use a/c in 1 bedroom) 4) Bedrooms facing TKO Road suffer from noise from the sport car morons day and night. 5) Kids pool is never used, instead yummy mummies and their kids dominate the swimming pool.Difficult to do laps unless you go late at night or early morning. Kids with nappies in the pool! Screaming kids all weekend.Kids cycling around tennis court. 6) Gym is not for the serious. One bench! Poor quality weights machine! Could be a lot better with a bit of thought. 7) Not enough sun beds. GOOD THINGS 1)Grounds are immaculate and well kept. 2) Staff/security/management very good. 3) Bus to city every morning outside condo- perfect. 4) private lift 5) Decent size rooms. 6) Handy for East coast park - restaurants close 7) Beer fridge! To summarize, AALTO is a good place for those with young families. Fixtures and fittings are not to the required standard suggested by the high rents. We will be moving out after having lived here for 2 years. Cannot stand the noise from the out of control screaming kids at the swimming pool during weekends and early evenings.

    Nice,but.....

    A lovely property which will be a good investment in the long term. But it is marred by defects such as inferior quality marble floors (bad yellowing and staining) and poor window noise insulation. Tenants need to negotiate hard as new LL's have increased rentals by 30% + . Hence many empty units now.Occupants also face 4 years of construction noise from the upcoming Amber Towers site construction diagonally opposite.
