My father has a corner 3 bedroom HDB as a gift from my grandma who's no longer with us, if we were to sell it and purchase another hdb to live in would there be a tax levied when either selling or purchasing in this case.

Hi,

Have you met your MOP of 5 years? If so, and
If this 3-rm was a subsidized flat, and you are purchasing another subsidized flat (such as BTO), a resale levy will apply. To clarify your case since it was inherited, its better to call up the hdb office.

If you are purchasing another resale flat without grant, there will no resale levy. Thanks and hope to value-add further to your housing plans.

Warm regards

Afternoon Thomas,

We would need to know if your current unit was purchased directly from HDB. If so, resale levy would be payment.

Do contact me further for detail discussion.
