My 2 year tenancy agreement ends in a week time. At the time of signing the contract, I have engaged tenant agent and my landlord engaged his own agent for documentation work. I see a "option to renew" clause, which says I can renew the contract for next 12 months with a prior notice of two months and I did it without fail. My landlord is ready to prepare the documentation for the renewal procedure by himself avoiding his agent. Now, my question is, even though no agent is involved in this renewal process, do I still have to pay my agent his commission? My understanding is, Im renewing the exiting contract carry forwarding the same terms and conditions hence this is not a new contract. So, I believe I need not pay any commission to my agent for this renewal process. Please correct me if im wrong
