Dear Naveen,

It seems that you are unfamiliar with the regulations pertaining to rental of residential accommodation in Singapore, that you are able to do it on your own. Would you be running a huge risk in doing so without being familiar with the regulations?

To be frank, thousands and one incidents can happen from marketing the unit for rent right up to the day the tenant moves out, and without understanding the through and through of what actions to take or have the experience to handle situations, it could get quite tricky for you in terms of managing the entire tenancy.

I just had a tenant evicted lawfully due to rental payment issues and there are still outstanding issues even after the tenant has moved out.

Entrust the apartment in the hands of a professional at a nominal fees which is affordable and you can leverage on the expertise and experience of securing you a tenant and also look after your interest during the tenure of the rental.

Tenants can visit http://bit.ly/SGExpatRental (Official Rental Requirements - Singapore Expatriates) to indicate your rental requirements.

Hi Naveen,

The fact that you are asking this question, shows that you know little about renting/selling your own property.

Doing it yourself is definitely possible and permissible.

There are procedures and processes that you may not be aware of. Going about it yourself to save on agent fee is risky.

We are trained professionals.

By engaging an agent, who would be looking after your interests and yours only, and with our contacts, we can help you find a buyer and more importantly, we will protect your interests.

Do contact me if you decide to engage one to help you.

I have done many rentals/sales in D5 in the past 2 years, and have lived there myself. I know the district at the back of my palm.

regards
