Asked by Mr. Raul Anand
I recently bought property which may TOP quite soon - however, I am currently renting with the contract til end of Mar 2017.
Assuming the property I bought TOP in September, which means I can move in by say October, I do not want to be paying double - rent and mortgage.
I've raised this to the agent of the owner who I have a lease with, and he is not cooperative in negotiating a deal with the owner. In fact, he is refusing to give me any contact to the owner. I'm willing to provide several month's notice, and as our contract states, in the event of pre-termination, to pay pro-rata of the agent's fee.
Do I have any options? What is the best course of action I can take?
