I managed to get a buyer for my property without my agent (not exclusive). Do I still need the agent to handle paperwork or can I go direct to my lawyer for conveyancing work. If the latter, do I have to pay the agent.

Hi, in your case and since the buyer is from your source, you need not pay any commission to any agent and could just engage a law firm if you do know the procedure well. But if you do need some assistance on handling the paperwork and to ensure this deal goes thru smoothly, you could discuss with your agent and to pay him or her a token sum instead.
