I am looking at buying a second property which I need to pay ABSD. Do I need to pay ABSD again if I sell away the second property in 5 years time and buy a new one? Assuming no change in existing rules.

Hi,

ABSD is tied with the number of property owned by individual entity.

For example, a SC only needs to pay 7% ABSD for the 2nd property own. Thus once sold the 2nd property and buy again, you will still owning a 2nd property, therefore need to pay ABSD again.

Hi,

ABSD is paid upon the purchase of a property. It is calculated based on the number of properties you hold upon the purchase of a property.

Hence, if you were to hold onto your first property, you will still be liable for ABSD for the new property you purchased, as it is going to be your second property.

Are you aware that there are some ways which you may be able to have some savings on ABSD? Have you explored these options?

Should you need any further assistance in matters relating to property, please contact me at my mobile 9748 6305  . I will be happy to assess and share with you the possibilities for you and your partner in the current market.

Thank you.

Best regards,
