1) This is more commonly happened in the buying a private property.
2) The main reason of this is because the seller's agent is not keen to share his commission with the buyer's agent.
3) If your agent is collecting his commission from you, I believed the seller's agent is happy to entertain your agent.
4) Seller's agent has to protect the interest and privacy of his client. So, he is doing the right thing not to release his client's detail.
5) But he will has to provide sufficient document to proof the genuinity of his client's ownership of the property when comes to the stage of offering an OTP.

Hi I am sorry you are facing such an encounter. As an agent, I have encountered this several times when representing buyers.

I believe the property in question might be a private property. Some seller agents prefer not to share their commission with buyer agents, and hence they do not reply or reply very slowly. Of course this isn't right and there is a way to communicate professionally.

It is normal for seller agent not to allow buyer or buyer's agent to contact seller, be it PDPA or protection of interests. The key thing is how do we define hostility and delay in responses, is it through text messages or through phone calls? Sometimes I feel both parties communicating have issues together therefore unless you have personally hear the seller agent to conclude about his or her hostility, it could also be judgemental from your agent to perhaps influence you from purchasing this unit? Did you agent also show you some other listings or even new launch project for this purchasing process?

CK is right that it could also be the issue of seller's agent not willing to cobroke and share commission if this is a private resale residential property.
