Hi Jed,

At present, there is no limitation on who can be a part time salesperson. It is however regulated that a part time salesperson is required to get the blessings of their full time employer before coming into this industry to practise part time.

In my own opinion, you are likely to know better how you can manage your own timing to excel in both roles, for I know of full time salesperson who cannot manage their time too.

Hi,

The basic criteria to be eligible is -
1. min 21 yrs old
2. must have 4 ‘O ‘ level passes.

Then, enrol for the new council course provider (CPA) & exam, Real Estate Salesperson (RES) (and pass the exam). Then, you may join any agency of your choice.

Alternatively, if you do not possess 4 ‘O' level passes, you have to take and pass a test, called - WPLN (Workplace Literacy & Numeric skills) conducted by WDA (Workforce Development Agency) before you can register for the RES course, conducted by CPA. Once you've passed RES, you may join any agency of your choice.

When is your free time? There's many areas in real estate and have different requirements, eg. residential properties typically require viewings on weekends or weekday evenings, but commercial properties are usually handled during office hours.

Suggest you find out more about what succeeding in real estate entails, and whether it suits you and your timing/commitment level before jumping into the RES course and incur unnecessary costs. Furthermore you can get discounts off the course when you join us :)
