Hi,

i bought resales flat from HDB without any grant and my husband bought direct from HDB. If we want to apply new flat from HDB in future, can we considered as first timer as i didnt buy from HDB before?

Good evening Catherine,

Your application will be considered as second timer as your husband purchased BTO from HDB before.

Care to share why you guys are going for BTO?

By doing so, both of you need to sell off both units.

You can choose to stay in one and rent out the other. Just for sharing.

    Hi both units are 3 room flat. we tend to increase our family member in future and therefore not enough space. BTW, both unit only sell after key collection. not when application right?

As your spouse had applied for subsidized unit before, both of you will be considered as second timer should you opt to purchase BTO unit in the future. After collection of keys to the BTO unit, both of you are required to sell away your respective HDB unit within 6 months.

Yes you have to sell both within 6 months from key collection date.

During this period of time, you might want to consider to rent out one and stay in one if not you can consider selling one of them.

Hi,

Your next BTO application will be considered 2nd timer as your spouse has already applied once. It may not be the best thing to do since you can have a good arrangement in place, ie. To stay in 1 and rent out the other. Thanks and hope to have more info so to make better recommendations.
