Hi, I am looking to start my career in becoming a real estate property agent.

What is the difference between becoming a part time and full time agent? Will there be a difference in terms of studying for the courses and agent license etc? Thanks in advance!

Hi there,

part and full timers will have to go through the same process. Clear the RES course and exams.

There are different intensity of course schedule. It can be as short as 1 to 2 weeks to 1 month (full day, evening, weekends etc) depending on course providers.

Part timers usually have lesser time to commit compared to full timers because they might hold a full time job thus different kind of prospecting methods could need to be used and different direction as guidance.

Hi, basically part-time agent are those having a full time job (main job), drawing a monthly salary from his employer or from the company where he worked. Full-time agent do not hold any full time job and his full time job (main job) is in real estate. He do not draw any salary and his salary is from the commissions earned. Once you passed RES course, you choose to be a part-time or full-time agent and the license fees is the same. Hence there is no difference in the RES course or the license fees.
To be a property agent in Singapore, whether part-time or full time and the mim age is 21 yrs, you must have min 4 O level passes, with max 2 sittings. or equivalent. Next, you have to sign up and pass the RES (Real Estate Salesperson) course. Once you passed your RES course, you join an agency which will apply for your RES license from CEA (Council for Estate Agencies) for you. You will next search to join the right team with the right Mentor/Manager as this will greatly decides your future success. By joining the right team with proven successful training programs, your kick start is very much easy. Our team, Powerful Negotiators is the largest team in PropNex, and ProNex is also the largest agency in Singapore. Also, we have properties and agents covering all the 4 sectors, HDB, condo landed and commercial/industrial. I was a retired Warehouse Manager, completely alien to this industry, and I was fortunate to have found this team 12+ years ago, starting alone as a newbie and today I have a strong team of agents and still growing. I provide 1-1 training to all my new agents. Personal guidance is assured. Hope I have attended to all your queries. Please feel free to drop me a mail if u need any clarification.
Look forward to hear from you.
