I have new agents closed afew thousands in their first few months and also producers who closed more than $120k in first 4 mths. It's difficult to comment whithout know much about your background and motivation.

Not, you do not need to start as a fulltime agent. However, you need to run the real estate business like a full-time businessmen. I have helped many part-time agents grow their clients based and accumulate enough reserve to transit into fulltime. One part-time agent just closed a $50+k deal and is making the decision.
