Hi Meredith, Being a full time student right now, I am unsure of how heavy your workload is when it comes to academic, as the main issue for aspiring RES now is to clear the RES examinations. I am also unsure of which segment within this industry do you prefer or like to be involved in as this industry is very dynamic when it comes to the segmentisation. We have HDB resale and rental, condominium sale, resale and rental, landed sale, resale and rental as well as commercial and industrial. I would encourage you to take on the RES course on your own according to your convenient schedule as I believe the academic commitments for your undergraduate course would be pretty heavy to dictate how to go about getting yourself qualified in this industry. The most important thing if I were you before shortlisting any agency would be paying the agency a visit to understand how things are being run. Afternoon Meredith, It's normal that individuals complete their RES course and pass their RES exam on their own, prior hunting for an agency to join into. Upon getting your RES certification, you will be allowed to register with one agency and your team. As for direction aspect, it would depends on which sector suits you best. From sales and rental, you can have sectors like commercial, industrial and residential. Then you will again have things like new launches and resale. It's definitely fine to start off with part-time, provided you are able to work your schedule well between property and studies. Do feel free to contact me for further discussion.
