Hi Gurus,

i bought my condo (exercise the otp) on 15june2016 and the condo went enbloc and it was sold on 13june2018.
so currently i need to pay 12% of seller stamp duty.
i would like to know, is it possible for me to appeal to iras to ask for waiver of seller stamp duty or at least asking to pay 8% seller stamp duty instead of 12% (because the difference only 2days)

Thanks

Hi Michael,

There is no stopping you from appealing, however, the results will not be within your control. As long as you have appealed and tried, I guess that is more important that not doing anything at all.

Hi Michael
You should have talk to developer or the enbloc agent when enbloc com-firming. chances for appealing to IRAs is tough. Especially if you are profitable from the transaction.

Hope lesson learn for not only yourself but to many others who is facing the same scenarios as you do. Unless you are falling outside the 80% that you are not willing to take place for enbloc but you have no choice. Then you may appeal again towards IRAs and or developer etc. This is out of rules and regulations.

Sincerely yours
