Hi. I struggled with the RES exams for a while too. Did a lot of reading and notes, but it only clicked after I found the right tutor.
( nope, not the old uncle)

What helped most was how he explained concepts and exam thinking, not just memorising content. Reading is still important, but guidance made a big difference for me.
