Hello everyone
I found an apartment through a post by a property agent. The agent asked for a commission of half month rent. I am confused since I am actually not a client of the agent but only asked to view the property and the meet the landlord. May I ask if this it the common practice in Singapore? Thank you very much.

Hi,

If he is representing the landlord, he cannot collect fees from you as dual representation is an offense under the CEA act.

Absolutely not a common practise. You should not compromise in giving the salesperson the commission and look for another apartment.
