Do you advise your client to hold the tenant's deposit because there's no new tenant replacement yet? I recently spoke to this agent and he said, he advised his client to hold our deposit because they still could not find a replacement. Is that legal? I checked his profile and i can't find his company name.

is that a break lease situation..? if you responsible to find a replacement .. naturally the onwer would want to hold on the deposit..

    No, its end of contract. The agent told me over the owner's phone is this "i understand u want to get ur deposit but we r still looking for tenants to replace ur deposit. I need to make sure that evrything's fine and surely i will give u ur deposit once we found a tenant." he was not our agent. Meaning he was nt the witness
    during our signing of contract. All of a sudden when turning over of keys he Just existed and said was representing the owner and he said it's a standard procedure.
