Have you fulfill your minimum occupation period usually 5 years? Provided you didnt apply for any special approval from your branch office to rent out the unit.

If you have, you should be able to market your unit for sale soon.

As for your purchase, are you thinking to purchase first or use the funds from sale to fund the purchase (time 2 transactions into a seamless smooth effort).

Hi,

1) It is only mandatory to occupy your own flat for 5 yrs before eligible to sell.
2) Unless you had applied to HDB to rent out your whole unit during this period due to overseas study or working. This 'rent-out' period will not be counted in your occupation period.
3) There are various things to consider before embarking on your shifting:
(a) Sales proceed is as expected, meaning what you assume and what could be exact amount.
(b) Already planned what to do after selling; not all buyer grant extension stay unless proper negotiate and worded.
(c) Your next housing finance plan is feasible. Do note that HDB flat less than 60yrs remaining lease does come with certain restrictions on fiancing.
