Hi, for purchasing of private property, buyers don’t pay any commission and so the seller agent would collect his or her commission from the seller. The market practice will be at 2% with GST. Pls feel free to let me know if you need any assistance.

Hi,

Well for the private property market, anything goes there's no hard and fast rule, that is why it is often termed as "sale by private treaty". I guess you should see it as a business partnership, if the agent is able to bring you the results and outcome you want and advance your interests, its only fair to pay him the success fee. The focus should be on maximizing your property exposure (and potential achievable price) with a professional and competent agent rather than try to minimize the transaction costs. With current market dynamics and supply of units on sale, its not so straightforward where you get an offer just by putting advertisements online.

Selling private property is like getting into a business.

Do you want to employ someone to run the business or you prefer to do it you own?

Do you pay someone to bring business to you or just to say thank you.

Guess you should have answer to yourselves.

A buyer agent will expect at least 1% of the success transaction. Otherwise he will bring his buyer to others.

It seems that you are taking a huge risk should you be undertaking the sale on your own without understanding the legal implications involved in the entire transaction, since you are not even aware if commission is applicable in the first place.

Hi Owner,
Why don't you shortlist an agent and work with him/her to sell your property than advertising yourself? You need not spend those fee. Let the agent handle it.
I would suggest you have an agent and work hand-in-hand with him/her to achieve a good sales price you want. After selling get the same agent to buy for you. This way the agent will know your timeline regarding sales completion, also to ensure you have a place to stay prior your new house is ready.
