Huttons Group has appointed Mark Yip as its new Chief Executive Officer, effective 1 November, according to a release by the firm.

He succeeds Goh Kee Nguan, who resigned on 12 August to pursue other business interest.

Huttons’ management thanked Goh for his leadership for the last seven years and his role in accelerating the adoption of technology among associates.

“The appointment of Mr Mark Yip comes at an exciting time for us as we celebrate our 18th anniversary. Together with the appointment, we are embarking on a strengthened chapter of growth as we welcome new associates from Savills and Century 21 into our expanded family”, said Huttons Group in the release.

Huttons noted that Yip’s appointment comes at a time when the company is welcoming new partners from Savills and Century 21.

“Mark brings about a wealth of experience from the developer’s perspective. His industry experience coupled with his past regional roles bodes well with the company’s vision to solidify our position in the local and regional market,” said Chris Marriott, Chief Executive Officer, Savills South East Asia and Huttons Director.

Yip previously held various positions in City Developments Limited (CDL), being appointed as Chief Marketing Officer in 2014 and redesignated as Chief Revenue Officer in February 2018. He also served as CEO of CDL China Limited in April 2016.

Prior to joining CDL, Yip served as Deputy Director at Far East Organization. Other past senior management positions he held included being CEO of Royal Sporting House, Malaysia and Director of PUMA, Executive Director of CircleFreight, Brunei/ Eagle Global Logistics Corporation and General Manager of ComfortDelGro Bus.

“The appointment of Mark on top of the merger with Savills will put us in good stead to further add value to our partners and secure more projects,” said Huttons Executive Director Loke Tuck Choy.
