Japanese YouTuber Ghib Ojisan has acquired a four-room resale flat in Singapore, which he described as a “dream house” since it Is not that central but offers magnificent views of nature, reported Asia One.

Though he did not reveal the exact location, he said that the house – which he acquired with his Singaporean wife – costs around $500,000. This means it could be located among Singapore’s more mature estates.

“I’m officially broke,” he laughed. Despite this, he is glad that he and his wife can now move out of his in-laws’ house, where they had been staying for the last two years.

Ojisan previously shared their struggles of house-hunting in Singapore, saying he and his wife had viewed a couple of houses but have not found the one that suit their budget. He managed to clinch the house following a round of negotiation with the seller and the property agent.

“This was by far the most expensive thing I bought in my life,” he said as quoted by Asia One.

However, they are not moving in just yet since the seller had applied for a two-month temporary extension of stay.

Ojisan said they intend to renovate some parts of the house – something that is common for new homeowners in Singapore but not in Japan as most flats there already look nice.

He revealed plans to acquire a house in Singapore earlier this year, when he explained the reasons why he preferred to be based here instead of Japan.

“My current focus is to show more of Singapore…I want more people to have better understanding of this country. That’s my current objective for obvious reasons, it’s better for me to stay in Singapore,” he said in an August vlog.
