The Building and Construction Authority (BCA) has approved 89 ongoing Build-to-Order (BTO) projects to resume works, including Senja Valley HDB BTO project in Bukit Panjang, said Minister for National Development Desmond Lee.
He had visited the project site on Friday, where he observed the COVID-19 safety measures put in place by the contractor – Sim Lian Construction.
These include segregation of workers and work zones, which means fewer workers are being assigned for jobs within the same zones.

This also means that some works take longer to complete than during pre-COVID times, said Lee on his Facebook post.
He noted that the project’s contractors had put extra effort to regularly consult with relevant agencies, “and ensure detailed manpower planning, site preparation, as well as train their workers to maintain safe distancing”.
With this, the minister thanked the contractor and their sub-contractors for their commitment to prevent the resurgence of COVID-19 and for doing their best to deliver the projects on time.
“Abiding by these safety measures may lead to inevitable delays, but they are needed for everyone’s health and safety,” he said.
