The Housing and Development Board’s (HDB) four-room Build-to-Order flats in Geylang proved to be a hit among first-time homebuyers, registering an application rate of 14.1 as at 5pm on Tuesday (18 August).
Known as Dakota One, four-room flats in the BTO project in Geylang, also recorded an application rate of 96.3 from second-time buyers.
Overall, the project’s four-room units received 6,022 applications for the 334 units on offer.
Ang Mo Kio’s 140 five-room flats also attracted robust interest, with an application rate of 11.9 from first-time buyers and 171.1 from second-timers. The four-room flats at Kebun Baru Edge also posted an application rate of 8.1 from first-time buyers and 45.4 from second-timers.
HDB launched a total of 7,862 new flats for this month’s BTO exercise.
A combination of the postponed BTO launch for May and the scheduled BTO exercise for August, the flats are spread across the non-mature towns of Tengah, Cho Chu Kang and Woodlands as well as the mature towns of Bishan, Ang Mo Kio, Pasir Ris, Geylang and Tampines.
The application period for the flats ended at midnight on 18 August.
HDB is set to offer around 5,700 BTO flats in Bishan, Tampines, Sembawang, Toa Payoh and Tengah in November. It will also offer another 3,500 BTO flats in Kallang Whampoa, Bukit Batok, Tengah and Toa Payoh in February 2021.
