Denise Keller will return as emcee for the Awards gala dinner on 12 October at Marina Bay Sands.

The official nominees for the 2018 PropertyGuru Asia Property Awards (Singapore) have been unveiled, including the finalists for several new categories.

With a total of 30 categories, this year’s expanded programme includes new categories for Design and Construction, for Building Communities and for Special Recognition for Customer Care.

Other categories added to the independent judging panel’s shortlist are Best Smart Building Development, Best Industrial Green Development and Best Industrial Development.

“There are always interesting opportunities popping up in Singapore as the work continues to ‘remake the city’. As a practicing designer I’m optimistic about the short-term outlook. Continuing bullish bids for land and en bloc sales and increases in development charges are a reasonable indication that it is business as usual for most sectors,” said SPARK Architects partner Lim Wenhui, who was elected as the first female head judge of the programme earlier this year.

Coinciding with Lim’s historic election as the programme’s first chairwoman is the selection of Celine Tang, group managing director of SingHaiyi Group, as the first-ever female recipient of the Singapore Real Estate Personality of the Year title.

The editors of PropertyGuru Property Report magazine picked Tang for leading the company’s efforts in building world-class commercial and residential developments as well as for helping break the glass ceiling for female CEOs within the industry.

“We are extremely proud to share this strong shortlist of developments and lineup of special awardees that only strengthen Singapore’s reputation as a pioneer in the Asia-Pacific region’s vital real estate sector,” said PropertyGuru Asia Property Awards founder and managing director Terry Blackburn.

“From innovative and smart buildings to world-class industrial facilities, these developments represent the best that Singapore developers can offer to the world.”

The awards will be presented at an exclusive, black-tie ceremony on 12 October at the Sands Expo and Convention Centre at Marina Bay Sands.
