The Singapore Land Authority (SLA) will get a new chief executive from 1 May 2015 as it embarks on its next phase of land development, revealed a statement from the Ministry of Law (MinLaw).

Mr Tan Boon Khai will take over from Mr Vincent Hoong Seng Lei, who served as SLA’s chief from 1 May 2009 to 31 March 2015. He left the position to be appointed as Registrar of the Supreme Court by the President on 1 April.

Tan, 41, has significant experience in the government and private sectors. He joins SLA from CapitaLand, where he is currently Head, Group Procurement.

Meanwhile, Hoong’s tenure at SLA was marked by many accomplishments.

“He championed the successful reform of the Conveyance Practice in Singapore through the implementation of the Electronic Payment Instruction System in 2011. He also drove the Singapore Geospatial Collaborative Environment (SG-SPACE) project and launched the OneMap in 2010.

“Under his leadership, SLA has been ranked amongst the top five agencies in the Pro-Enterprise Ranking (PER) Survey on Government Agencies since 2010,” added MinLaw.
