Ang Mo Kio MRT viaduct

The Singapore Land Authority (SLA) is inviting the public to give suggestions on the possible uses for land under viaducts through a public consultation.

From now until 20 May 2015, SLA will gather feedback on how to creatively optimise spaces under the flyovers and MRT/LRT tracks for various uses.

SLA cited how a futsal facility under the Thomson flyover has proven to be very popular with football enthusiasts.

These unused spaces are usually between 3,000 sqm to 6,000 sqm in size, and SLA will look at installing basic amenities like water and electricity.

For the time being, the agency plans to call for a tender to rent out available land under viaducts.

Feedback can be submitted online at www.sla.gov.sg
