The largest mall in the Paya Lebar precinct, OneKM (pictured) will open its doors tomorrow, Sunday (30 November), UOL Group said in a statement to the media.
According to the group, the official opening will be attended by Member of Parliament for Marine Parade GRC, Assoc. Prof. Fatimah Lateef.
The mall, located the upcoming Paya Lebar commercial hub, features more than 150 shops offering range of shopping, edutainment and culinary choices spread over a net lettable area (NLA) of more than 200,000 sq ft that spans three-storeys.
UOL said, the mall has received pre-commitment lease of over 90 percent ahead of its official opening amid a difficult retail environment, citing shop operators facing labour shortages and other cost pressures compounded with increased competition from online retailers.
“We worked closely with our tenants to see how we can improve productivity to overcome the manpower issue facing local retailers and restaurateurs. This has led to some of our tenants, such as The Paradise Group, introducing new dining concepts in the mall which are less labour intensive,” said UOL President (Property) Liam Wee Sin.
The mall will also feature a central kitchen to serve three restaurants, to help meet manpower shortages faced by F&B outlets.
Known for the success of its other themed malls, OneKM is UOL Group’s third mall after United Square and Velocity@Novena Square.
