Real estate agents at PropNex have pledged to donate a portion of their commission to Community Chest to raise a total of S$100,000 for three schools dedicated to children with multiple disabilities, reported Asia One.
The three beneficiaries are MINDS Towner Gardens School, Lighthouse School and the Rainbow Centre – Yishun Park School.
The partnership between PropNex and Community Chest was announced at a PropNex convention, where an 11-year-old student at Lighthouse School was introduced to more than 1,500 PropNex sales associates. 15 team leaders have already promised to donate S$20 to S$100 from their commission.
“Our business is entirely different from those who are getting a monthly pay. Our salespersons’ income comes only when they receive the commission, thus, we want to make it ‘palatable’ for our salespersons to contribute regularly to the less fortunate too,” noted PropNex CEO Mohd Ismail.
Ang Bee Lian, CEO at the National Council of Social Service (NCSS), said: “When Community Chest’s workplace giving programme (SHARE) was first launched in 1984, there were 210 participating companies and 40,900 donors.”
“Today, the number of SHARE donors has risen to over 220,000. PropNex will be joining many of our partners on this fulfilling and exciting journey and I hope that more companies will also leverage their unique strengths to help the needy.”
