Beijing's property prices jumped 9.1% last month

Property prices in Beijing rose 9.1 percent year-on-year last month, but below 20 percent compared to October’s price increase, according to a statistics released by the Beijing Statistics Bureau.

Property prices fell 0.2 percent month-on-month in November, but prices for new homes rose 14.3 percent year-on-year. Prices for commercial houses in the city also climbed 15.8 percent over the same period last year, while home prices for low-income households, as well as prices of limited properties jumped 1.9 percent in November.

Meanwhile, prices for resale properties jumped 3.9 percent year-on-year in October, down 1.1 percent in September.

Beijing has sold 13.76 million sq m of new commercial properties in November, down 31.1 percent over the same period last year, while sales of residential properties dropped 38.7 percent year-on-year to 9.98 million sq m. Office space market has sold 1.85 million sq m, down 5.2% year-on-year, but sales area of properties for business use increased 1.4 percent year-on-year to 1.22 million sq m.
