Hi,

For HDB enhanced contra cases, your current flat and your next flat purchase need to be on hdb loan as well. Most will go for hdb lawyer as it is cheaper than private lawyer, but if bank loan is involved private lawyer must be engaged for the transaction.

Dear Sir/Mdm,

When buying and selling concurrently, we will need to plan the timeline in such a way that you will have enough time to renovate your next house and not have to rent a place in the interim period. Therefore, having a well planned timeline is the first step.

Contra is certainly better because we will be able to save some time but it will depend on your current housing loan and the next housing loan that you are taking. The parties involved must also be agreeable to do the contra. Between a private and HDB lawyer, if possible, use a HDB lawyer as it is cheaper.
