What options do I have to secure a housing besides renting/leasing as those options are not secure (e.g. landlord may stop renting after 1 year, need to find again and may not be able to find another rental place for months)?

Context:

Divorced, finalized in Feb 2022. Matrimonial Home (BTO) will be transferred to ex-spouse between Feb 2022 to Feb 2023 after my share of the flat have been paid back to me + CPF.

Good evening Sir/ Mdm,

you only can buy your own place or move in with your parents if you wish to have a fixed roof over head.

We can work out your finances to see what's best out of it.

Care to share how much CPF OA funds and cash on hand will you have after the flat transfer? Have you speak to any banker in regards to your loan assessment?

Hope my sharing helps in aiding in your enquiry.

May I know how can I value add further in your property needs?

Best regards,

YT Tan

Dear sir/madam,

I understand your concern on the long term certainty of having a roof over your head and not have the inconvenience of moving multiple times. While renting is not an outright option with a private landlord, perhaps you may consider looking at renting from a commercial landlord, as in renting from developers as there is less tendency to sell. The alternative will be looking for a unit to purchase in the private market, but that said, your current ownership in the HDB should be removed in order not to be paying additional buyers' stamp duty.

Hope the above helps.
