Suspected agent not disclosing full info.

I rented a unit in July 2021 1+1 year and to commence contract at Oct 2021.

After Reno complete in Nov and within 1 month the agent told me the unit had been sold and the landlord will using for own business.

I manage to contact the the new landlord and he was surprised that there was a new tenant attached to the sale as he wanted the unit untenanted after the last tenant was finished.

It was made know for the agent that the new landlord wanted it for own use. June

The tenant “expressed” that they wanted to lease long term. July

The offer by new landlord was in june
The rental contract by tenant was in July
There was no response by agent to new landlord till after a new rental was sign after the previous rental which was not what the new landlord requested.

I’ve spent my life saving opening this shop and now I’m dead in the water. Calling CEA and seeking legal advice it looks like I don’t have a strong enough case.

Any help or advise will be greatly appreciated. I just want my capital back. I have all proof in black and white

Hi,

Perhaps you may like to consult a law firm too? For CEA side, they would take some time to investigate and to penalise the agent if he or she is found guilty.

    Law firm say legally right but morally wrong. Case is not concrete enough as the only suspicious act was the time of info giving which the seller and agent could cover up easily. But still I don’t mind to check. Do I need to give the details here or write in to CEA with the details ?
