As long as you have enough funds for your second property, there is no need for u to sell your hdb after yr MOP. Funds involved are additional buyer stamp duties, downpayment, stamp duties, lawyer fee. Do take note that there are restrictions to the use of cpf and loan for your case. Feel free to call me at 8182 4811  if you require further clarifications. Regards KB Chong (ERA) Read More

No you don't have to sell your HDB flat. You can purchase a 2nd property (private condo) if you have the means to finance it. Please note that over and above the purchase price of the 2nd property, you will incur Buyer Stamp Duty, Additional Buyer Stamp Duty and Legal fees. There will also be restrictions on the use of CPF funds and the amount you can borrow. Feel free to reach me at 9168-2548  or tan.williamwl@yahoo.com for a more detailed discussion. Afternoon, Since your spouse is SC, you are not required to sell away your HDB unit to purchase a private property. What you need to take note is the CPF minimum sum requirement, 7% ABSD payable by cash and the maximum loan available to both of you if your current unit still have existing mortgage loan.
