My wife has an overseas property which is fully paid up without using of any banks loans in Singapore. If we are to buy a hdb resale flat now, is this possible without disposing the overseas property. Do we need to declare on the overseas property to hdb at all.

Hi, your wife would be required to sell the overseas property away if both of you intend to purchase a HDB unit.

Hi Sir,

Your wife is supposed to sign an undertaking to dispose off her interests in all residential properties (local and overseas) within 6 months of the HDB purchase.

If there are valid reasons for her to keep the overseas property, she might want to write in to appeal.

Should you need require further assistance in matters relating to property, please contact me at my mobile 9748 6305  . I will be happy to assess and share with you the possibilities for you in the current market.

Thank you.

Best regards,
