Hi Faith

You may like to speak with a banker first to access the loan eligibility for both you and your sister. And after having a rough idea of the maximum loan that both of you could borrow, you can then plan for the next step be it EC or a private condo.

Dear Faith,

I believe both your sister and yourself are Singaporean. If anyone of you own a HDB with a minimum occupation of 5 years, you are allow to purchase private property (condo or landed) for investment.

If anyone of you own a private property and wish to purchase together for another property, you have to pay Additional Buyer Stamp Duty of 5%.

It will be good for both you and your sister check with the bank on amount of loan (if you intend to) before committing to a property.
