Hi Choon Pon,

You can only sign on your dad's behalf if you have the Power of Attorney to act for him the sale/rent of his property.

If your dad cannot write, he can use his thumbprint instead of his signature. You can act as witness to his thumbprint.

As what my good friend Robbie has pointed out, you will not be authorised to sign on behalf of your father for the tenancy agreement as it is a legal binding document and will not be recognised in the eyes of law if it is signed by an unauthorised person. Only when you father has appointed you as the Power Of Attorney (which can be done at a law firm), you will then be allowed to signed and act on his behalf in the tenancy agreement. The alternative solution has been brought up by Robbie too in using a thumbprint. It will be great if you can be together in the process as a witness to ensure that all are in proper order, and run through all the paperworks before getting them finalised.
