I've a fully paid HDB. After cooling measure on 11th Jan 2013, what is amount of stamp fee I have to pay for a 1 MIL condo if I want to buy one? I understand previously was 3% minus $5400.Please kindly advise me .

Morning John,

With the cooling measure, if you are PR and intend to purchase private property, you are required to sell away your HDB within 6 months from key colection. The ABSD payable willbe 5% as you will be required to be a declaration to sell your current unit.

If you are SC, upon purchase of 2nd property, you are require to pay ABSD of 7%, on top of the standard stamp duty.

Afternoon John,

If you are singaporean, you will be subject to 7% additional buyer's stamp duty on top of the normal buyer's stamp duty. In total will be $94.6k.

If you are a PR, you will be subject to 10% ABSD on top of normal buyer's stamp duty. As a PR, you have to dispose off your HDB within 6 months after completion of purchase and able to get ABSD relief (refund of 5% ABSD) as well.
