The objective of purchasing a HDB property is to provide affordable property for Singaporeans and PRs to stay in, and yes, the affordability of HDB properties is a great concern to majority of us who do not own any property, nevertheless, do bear in mind that HDB property should not be bought with the intention of cashing out to make a good profit after MOP. In general, value of property should appreciate over time, and the recent measures introduced is to reduce the appreciation rate and not exactly bring down the value of HDB properties.
If you have the means to purchase and look forward to purchasing a HDB for your own stay, by all means proceed in doing so, as rental prices are also on the rise.
