Hi Doris,

The rule of thumb is to dispose within 6 months upon receiving the keys for your HDB, which is quite a substantial period for you to have sold or dispose off the unit. As such, I would think that even if you can request to HDB for extension, unless the reason in not being able to dispose is very genuine and reasonable, HDB may not entertain your request. Having said that, if you never try, you will never know.

My advise is that you should engage a reliable agent who can focus in assisting you to sell off your private property at a reasonable price in order not to take any risk.
