Good morning Sir/ Mdm,

SPR household (both individuals are SPR for at least 3 years individually) has to bear 5% ABSD for their first residential property purchase in Singapore on top of buyer's stamp duty estimated 3% to 4%.

Buyer's stamp duty is applicable to SC and foreigners as well.

Good morning,

For SPR 1st residential property purchase, both BSD & ABSD are payable. The total stamp duties will be approximately 8% of the purchase price.

I would like to compliment Mr Ivan Ng for his professional work and effort.I sent my first post in Jan 2019 and Ivan replied promptly, so I have decided to contact Ivan for follow up. ABSD is applicable to all SPR and foreigners who are purchasing a residential property in Singapore, and the rates applicable is dependant on how many residential properties they own in Singapore. Buyer Stamp Duty is applicable for all property purchasers regardless of their citizenship. In your situation, both ABSD and BSD will apply when you purchase a resale HDB.
