Hi JT,

If you need the cash proceeds from the sale of your HDB flat to finance the condo purchase, then you need to sell HDB flat first then buy the condo.

HDB transaction usually takes longer to complete as compared to condo transaction, thus with the right planning and coordination, you will be able to collect keys to your condo first, do your renovation, then move from your HDB flat to the condo. Then you will handover the keys of your HDB flat to the new owner.

Congratulations for your decision to upgrade. As you are selling your HDB and purchasing a condo, we will need to know you financial outlay especially if you are able to purchase 1st before selling. This is an important factor as it not only affects your cashflow, but the transaction of HDB unit is likely to take longer than the completion of a condo, there timing here is critical in order to ensure that there is roof overhead during this transition period.
