I was conned by an agent and landlord who went back on their word and proceeded to deduct my deposit for miscellaneous items that were totally working fine. We also had a property return form specifying that the landlord bears the charges for things that were never rectified and not provided for when I moved in, as well as WhatsApp screenshots. The agent refused to reply, the agency as well. What can I do? I don’t expect to get back the money, but the agent goes away scot free? Is this a norm in the industry?

Hi, most of the time it’s all about negotiation and also to give and take at the same time from both the parties. But if all else fail, some places to seek redress or complain will be small claims tribunal, property estate agency as well as the CEA.
