Asked by
I rented one unit and continue to rent after expiry of 2 years agreement. Myself and owner agreed by verbal agreement. 2 month notice has been given to owner and handover back to owner date is 31 oct 2018.
My question is that is it legal/reasonable action from owner as below:
1. Owner bring his agent to exercise expiry contract which ask me that 1 month in advance to clean before move out unit. Problem is that inside contract itself no such clause is been stated.
2. Since verbal agreement, can i just handover on exact date 31 oct in clean condition?
3. If early handover to owner, is it will received deposit refund from owner? What is the normal practice?

Highly appreciated on your valued reply.

Thanks.

Hi, you only need to exercise your right as per the contract terms and only need to handover keys on the last day . Once handover is done and assuming all is fine, landlord will then transfer the deposit back to your account within 2 weeks.
