I have outstanding loan of $200k on 5 rm HDB in Pasir Ris bought in 2000 with FHOG currently rented out. Looking to sell & buy at least 1440 sf 3+ BR mid-high floor near Bishan MRT budget of around $600. Possible? And what fees are payable when selling & expected deposit amounts for new place? How long appox. will this transaction take? Thanks.

Dear D M,

Typical fees involved in a resale transaction as a seller for HDB are:

1. Resale application fees $60
2. Legal fees (based on selling price of $500k) - ~$300 if you engage HDB to act for you.
3. Resale levy if applicable
4. Estates agent fees (2% of selling price)

If you intend to take up HDB loan for your next purchase, deposit figures will be computed accordingly and what you are required is to put in up to $5k as option fees when you make your purchase.
