I bought my 1st HBD flat, 3rm resales on 2017, single scheme with grants. wife is foreigner. Soon to hit 5 year. Wife gotten PR status as well.
Can my wife and i apply for 4rm BTO? Do we consider 1st OR 2nd timer?
Do we still entitle to grants?
Do we need to pay resales levy?

Good evening Sir,

You already enjoyed subsidy in the form of housing grants in your existing HDB thus if you wish to apply for a BTO, you will be considered as 2nd timer. Resale levy will be applicable.

You can email HDB to double confirm.

You may apply for BTO but resale levy will be payable as you have taken a subsidy for the 1st HDB house. You can refer to the page for the detailed information (https://www.hdb.gov.sg/residential/buying-a-flat/new/eligibility/hdb-flat).

Hi,

1) You shall be categorized as 2nd timer for your BTO application.
2) As a 2nd timer BTO applicant your chance of successful balloting is lower and the grant available is only the step-up grant.
3) However there are certain conditions to be met to be eligible for this grant which does not apply to your case. You may take a look at the condition at the below link:

3) Since you received a grant for your current flat, your resale levy will be $15k, half of $30k for those who receive a full grant.
4) You may put up your BTO application once you hit the MOP. Best of luck with your application!

Dear Sir,

As you have purchased your 3 room flat with grant back in 2017, you would be considered as a 2nd timer already. If you and wife were to apply for a BTO flat, there will not be any grants that is eligible and yes you will need to pay a resale levy as a 2nd timer.
