If the Current market price can give you a decent profit and fufill your plan/ dreams and if you are comfortable to rent a unit for the next 3 years , you may consider putting your up unit for sale. The future is always a uncertainty. The longer the time frame, the more risk it is exposed to.

Hi Rina,

You need to do your maths carefully before you make any decision.
If after you sell your hdb minus off the rental of the place that you will be renting for 3 years, and you still can get back a decent profit. Then you may go ahead to sell it now.

Hi Ms Rina,

Like what William has suggested. Please do your sum correct before you decide which is a better choice, sell & rent one now , or stay put and wait till your EC is ready.

My personal opinion is to stay put with your current 5rm flat & wait till EC is ready.

For example if you wish to rent a 5room flat for next 3 yrs at an average rental $2500/mth.

For 3 yrs, you will be paying $2500x36mth = $90 000.

Its hard to predict if the prices will drop as there will still be buyers who preferred a resale flat in the market due to various reasons. Like PR who can only buy resale at this moment.
